Pedestrian Car Accidents are on the rise in Phoenix over the last ten years.
According to Arizona Department of Transportation numbers there were 112 auto related pedestrian fatalities last year (2018). This number is down from 2017 (226). Clearly, pedestrians are at severe disadvantage and these numbers confirm this. Drivers have a higher responsibility to ensure that pedestrians can safely use cross walks and other pedestrian designated areas of the road. While the City and State are taking steps to reduce these numbers, this does not help compensate those who have lost love ones due to a driver’s negligence. People who have lost family members in a pedestrian car accident have legal rights against those whose caused the deadly accident. A financial settlement will never replace their lost family member, but it can help with the financial burdens and hardships that result from losing a family member.
